AIDS Project Los Angeles September 7 1990 Madonna's Acceptance Speech for the Commitment To Life Award
On September 7 1990, Madonna was honored with the “Commitment To Life Award” and performed “Vogue” at the Commitment To Life IV benefit for AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Madonna noted in her speech,"While the AIDS epidemic is wreaking havoc on this planet, it has also released a wave of homophobia that is truly frightening."
